It’s hard to see in this photo, but this is the kind of train you take under the Channel when you drive between England and France. Toward the bottom you can see the door that leads into the next car, and on the right is the garage door to the next car because you actually drive onto the train and park there. The doors are rubber sealed for some reason, I guess because of air pressure (or water or something), and you go through a kind of weird air lock when you go from one car to another. As you can see the ceiling is really high and the light is unusually dim for a train, because really it’s a moving garage and it has to accommodate busses like the one I was riding on that day. It was a really weird experience.
